Privacy policy

Last updated August 15, 2026. This policy explains what CourtQuote collects, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

Who we are

CourtQuote (“CourtQuote”, “we”, “us”) operates courtquote.com, a directory of sports court contractors with a project planning tool and an optional contractor matching service, operated from the United States. Questions about this policy go to support@courtquote.com.

Information you give us

Most of the site can be read without telling us anything. We collect personal information only when you choose to send it:

  • Match requests. When you ask us to find a contractor, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you provide one, the project location, and the project details you describe: court type, service, site conditions, timeline and budget answers.
  • Verification. We confirm your email address, and your phone number if you gave one, with a short code before we act on a request. We store the fact of verification, and we do not store the code itself after it is used.
  • Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the message and use it to respond.

The exact consent language shown next to the submit button is the language that governs. We keep a record of the version you agreed to, and updated wording creates a new version rather than rewriting the record of what you saw.

Information about contractor businesses

Contractor listings are built from information that businesses publish about themselves: business name, website, phone number, location and the work they do. Each listing shows the date its details were checked. If a listing describes your business and you want it corrected or removed, contact us at the address above.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Like nearly every website, our infrastructure records the IP address, browser type and requested page for each request. We use these records to operate the site, prevent abuse and diagnose problems.
  • Cookies. We use a small number of first-party cookies: one that saves an in-progress match request for up to 24 hours so you can resume it, one that protects forms against forged submissions, and sign-in cookies on the owner console, which is not a public part of the site. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
  • Product analytics. We record events like “a match request was submitted” from our own servers to understand how the site is used. There is no third-party analytics script in your browser, no session replay, and no advertising profile. Event payloads are scrubbed of contact details before they leave our systems.

How we use information

  • To review your project and look for a contractor whose coverage and capabilities fit it.
  • To verify that a request is real before any contractor is approached.
  • To send you the emails a request needs: verification codes, status updates and, if a contractor accepts, the introduction.
  • To send occasional CourtQuote emails about court projects and cost guides, only if you ticked the optional box asking for them. Every one includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To operate, secure and improve the site, including preventing spam and abuse.
  • To meet legal obligations.

Who we share it with

Contractors. If a contractor accepts your project, we share your name, email address and phone number with that one contractor so they can contact you about it. We share your details with one contractor at a time, and never before acceptance. Before acceptance a contractor sees only an anonymised summary of the project.

Service providers. Companies that process data on our behalf, under contract, to run the site: website hosting, email delivery, phone number verification, bot protection on public forms, server-side product analytics, and sign-in for our own staff console. They may use the data only to provide their service to us.

Legal. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of CourtQuote, our users or others. If CourtQuote is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, personal information may transfer as part of that transaction under this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.

How long we keep it

Unsubmitted planner drafts expire on their own within about a day. Submitted requests, consent records and the correspondence around them are kept as long as we need them to provide the service, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations, then deleted or anonymised.

Your choices and rights

  • You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • You can ask us to correct it or delete it.
  • You can withdraw the optional marketing consent at any time, using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email or by contacting us.
  • You can ask us not to share your details with any further contractor about a pending request.

Depending on where you live, some of these choices are also legal rights, and you may also have the right to complain to your local data protection or consumer protection authority. To exercise any of them, email support@courtquote.com from the address your request used. We respond to every request and do not discriminate against you for making one.

Security

We protect personal information with measures appropriate to its sensitivity, including encryption in transit, access limited to the people who need it, and rate limits and bot checks on the forms that collect it. No website can promise perfect security, so we also keep the amount of personal data we collect deliberately small.

Children

CourtQuote is for people planning construction projects and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

When this policy changes, we will post the new version here and update the date at the top. A change that meaningfully affects how already-collected information is used will be flagged more prominently.
