Provider terms

Last updated August 20, 2026. These terms apply to contractors who claim a listing or receive project opportunities from CourtQuote. They sit alongside the terms of service, which cover using the site itself. Where the two differ for a contractor, these terms govern.

Who these terms are for

You are a “provider” if you claim a CourtQuote listing for your business, accept a project opportunity from us, or hold a paid placement. Accepting these terms means you confirm you are authorised to act for the business, and that you accept them on its behalf as well as your own.

Listings

Listings are compiled from information businesses publish about themselves, and are shown with the date the details were checked. A listing exists whether or not it is claimed, and claiming one does not create a charge.

  • Information you supply about your business must be accurate and kept current. You are responsible for correcting it when it changes.
  • You may ask us to correct, hide or remove your listing at any time by writing to support@courtquote.com. Removal takes effect on the site; it does not delete records we are required to keep, which the privacy policy describes.
  • We may decline, edit, pause or remove a listing, and may pause or end project opportunities, if information proves inaccurate, if a licence or insurance representation fails, or if these terms are broken.

Claiming a listing

Claiming verifies that you control the business, using a link or a code sent to a contact the business publishes. Claim links are single use, expire, and are tied to one listing. Do not forward one: anyone holding it can act on the claim until it expires. Tell us at once if you believe a link has been shared or misused.

Content and image rights

Photographs, logos, descriptions and other content you supply stay yours. You give CourtQuote a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, resize and display them on the site, in search result previews of it, and in listings of your business, for as long as your listing is shown and for a reasonable period afterwards in caches and archives we do not control.

  • You confirm that you own the content or have permission to license it to us, that it depicts your own work, and that showing it breaks nobody else’s rights.
  • If you believe content on the site infringes your rights, write to support@courtquote.com identifying the content, the page it is on, and the right you hold. We remove or disable content that we conclude infringes, and we tell the party who supplied it.

How verification is described

CourtQuote displays what it has checked and how, and never more than that. A listing shows the source of a detail and when it was last confirmed. We do not certify, endorse, rate or rank the quality of your work, and we do not warrant your licensing, insurance or workmanship to buyers. Do not describe a CourtQuote listing or a verification marker as an endorsement, an accreditation or an award.

Project opportunities

When a submitted project fits your service area and capabilities, we may offer it to you. An offer is an offer, not a booking.

  • Exclusivity while you decide. A project is offered to one contractor at a time and stays yours to accept for the window stated in the offer. If you decline or the window passes, it may be offered to someone else.
  • Contact details arrive on acceptance. The buyer’s name, email address and phone number reach you only after you accept, and only for that project. You may not use them for marketing, add them to a mailing list, sell them, or pass them to anyone outside your business.
  • Respond promptly and honestly. Contact the buyer within the time the offer states, tell them how you got their details, and stop contacting them if they ask you to.
  • Nothing is guaranteed. We do not guarantee a volume of projects, a project’s budget or timeline, that a buyer will reply, or that any project will become work.

Buyers describe their own projects and we check what we reasonably can before offering one. We do not warrant that a description is complete or accurate.

Fees

CourtQuote does not currently charge providers. Claiming a listing, appearing in the directory, and receiving and accepting project opportunities are free today.

When a fee begins to apply, we will show you the price and what it attaches to, and you will need to accept it before anything is charged. We will not start charging for something you are already receiving without asking you first. Prices, where they apply, are exclusive of tax unless stated otherwise, and you are responsible for taxes on your own business.

A fee, when one applies, attaches to an accepted project opportunity rather than to work won. Paying a fee does not make you the buyer’s contractor, and no fee is ever a commission on the value of a job.

Credits

Where a fee has been charged for a project opportunity, a credit is due if the project turns out not to be what it was presented as. Report it within five business days of accepting, with what you found, and we will credit the fee where any of these hold:

  • The contact details do not reach the buyer, and no working contact exists.
  • The buyer did not submit the request, or the request was a duplicate of one you were already charged for.
  • The project is outside the service area, court type or service the opportunity stated.
  • The buyer had already engaged a contractor before the project was offered to you.

A credit is not due because a buyer chose another contractor, stopped replying, postponed, or turned out to have a smaller budget than they hoped. Those are the ordinary risks of quoting work. Credits are applied against future fees rather than refunded in cash, unless your account is closing, and we decide credit claims in good faith.

Featured placement

Where paid placement is offered it is labeled wherever it appears, and it changes only visibility. Featured placement does not affect whether you receive a project opportunity, which projects you are offered, or the order in which contractors are offered a project. Matching is decided by service area, capability and availability. We do not sell position in matching, and we do not rank listings by payment.

What you owe buyers

  • Hold the licences, registrations and insurance the work and your jurisdiction require, and tell us if that changes.
  • Quote and contract with the buyer directly and in writing. CourtQuote is not a party to that contract and never handles payment for construction work.
  • Do not misrepresent CourtQuote, your listing, or your relationship with us to a buyer.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Claim a listing for a business you are not authorised to act for, or supply false information in a claim.
  • Scrape, harvest, resell or redistribute buyer contact details or listing data.
  • Submit a project request yourself, or ask anyone to submit one, in order to test, game or inflate the system.
  • Interfere with the site, probe its security, or bypass its rate limits and bot checks.

We may pause or end your listing, your project opportunities, or your access for breaking these rules, and we may do so immediately where a buyer is at risk.

Data protection

Buyer contact details you receive are personal information. Handle them lawfully, keep them only as long as the project needs, keep them secure, and delete them on request. How CourtQuote handles personal information, including your own, is in the privacy policy.

Disclaimer and liability

The service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and accuracy. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CourtQuote is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits or lost business, or for the acts or omissions of any buyer, and our total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the greater of one hundred US dollars or the fees you paid CourtQuote in the twelve months before the claim.

Indemnity

If your breach of these terms, your content, your use of buyer contact details, or your work for a buyer causes a claim against CourtQuote by someone else, you agree to cover the losses and reasonable costs that claim causes us.

Ending and changing

You can stop using CourtQuote at any time, and ask us to remove your listing. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms. We may update these terms; the date at the top moves when we do, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. A change that introduces a fee or increases one applies only after you accept it. Sections that by their nature survive, including content licence, disclaimer, liability and indemnity, survive.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Kansas, USA, without regard to conflict of law rules. Disputes that cannot be resolved informally belong to the state or federal courts located in Kansas, and both sides consent to their jurisdiction.
